9 stenciling projects that should be on your DIY to-do list

Almost everything looks better with a fresh coat of paint, but stenciling on a pattern takes it to the next level.
Stenciling is also incredibly easy, so there's no excuse not to give it a try. These projects will turn out great no matter what your level of artistic skill!
1. DIY stenciled tray (h/t Ginger Snap Crafts)
Breakfast in bed is even better when served on a pretty stenciled tray like this one. This would also look great just as decor for the kitchen or living room.
2. Stenciled lampshade (h/t Royal Design Studio Stencils)
Stenciling a round lampshade is a bit trickier than some other projects, but doesn't it look great? It's a beautiful way to make over an old thrift store lamp.
3. Stenciled table runner (h/t Lemon Tree Creations)
A pretty table runner automatically makes any room look better, and it's such a bonus when you can say you made it yourself! This would look just as great on your coffee table as it would in your dining room.
4. Upholstered stenciled headboard (h/t Infarrantly Creative)
Finding the right headboard can be challenging, so why not just make your own? You can design it to match the decor of your room perfectly.
5. Stenciled clawfoot bathtub (h/t Kammy's Korner)
If you're lucky enough to own a clawfoot bathtub, make it as stylish as possible by stenciling it with a cool design.
6. Stenciled tote bag
Add a little color to a plain canvas bag with a stencil. If you're having trouble selecting just one out of the many stencils available, choose two: a large one, and a smaller one to use on other parts of the bag's front. Get the full tutorial here.
